John always had a passion for writing from right back when he attended Hardwick Primary School. Through the years, he has written articles for several mainstream magazines but it wasn't until 2019 that he made his publishing debut. 

This was inspired by his friend Steve Boyce who had created two illustrated books based on a local traffic cone called Cornelius. After reading these books to his young son at the time, John came up with several ideas of how to take the series forward and suggested them to Steve for future projects. Steve offered John the chance to join him as a co-author of the series and between them, there are now over 80 Cornelius Cone adventures available in ebook and compilations worldwide. In 2007, John wrote the first draft of a novel, originally called; Lost Love. The original manuscript was put away in a box and forgotten about until the Covid lockdowns of 2020 when, whilst sorting through his attic, John found the original printed story again. After extensive editing and rewriting, this novel became the first Blake Langford adventure, newly titled; Where No One Stands Alone.

Having rediscovered the love of writing again, John has now created a series of four Blake Langford novels with a fifth being released in 2025 as well as a spin-off children's series called Bennie Barrier's Big City Adventures which follows on from Steve and John's Cornelius Cone adventures. 

John Roberts now lives in The New Forest on England's south coast with his wife and son, two dogs, Max and Ralph, has a regular weekly blog on substack; JohnRobertsAuthor.Substack.com and often posts in the writing community on X.
